What Do I Do With All This Energy?
We dispel so much energy into the universe at all times and we don’t even realize it. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been sitting at my computer all day (doing both productive and unproductive things) or maybe it’s the fact that I’ve had twelve ounces of hard, purple liquor in the past hour that’s just now settling into my ever-malleable brain, but I can feel it. I can truthfully say that I actively feel energy seeping out of my body in two directions: from my tips of my feet and from the top of my head. I feel the liquid inside my limbs, and I feel it exiting discreetly out of my skin, but I don’t see it. I know it’s happening, but I don’t see it. Kind of creepy, isn’t it?
If I close my computer right now, lay down, close my eyes, and focus on the potential energy of my body, I would feel it exiting through my limbs, and there is nothing I could do about it because it happens all the time without me knowing. And I say “potential energy” not in a science-class kind of way, but meaning that it is there for me to do something with it. Like I mentioned, it is a bit scary to think of an invisible thing leaving your body with or without your consent, but if you think about it some more, think about the fact that that energy is only yours. The energy that you feel being recycled from your body into the universe is yours and you have the power to redirect it to whatever or wherever you please. Just imagine: you wake up, drink your morning coffee, or have your morning run (whatever gets you going) and you have the greatest day of your life. Your train was on time (if only), you passed all your exams, and maybe you got a free cupcake somewhere! Think of all the places, of all the people you shared your energy with during that perfect day, then imagine laying in your perfect bed after the best shower and dispelling all of the positive energy you created with your body into the universe. Now your energy has not only served you well, it can and has already transferred itself to those who could use it even more. Now more people are radiating in positive energy because of you. That’s the power of energy. That’s the power of the universe.
Like everything else in this karmic, yin/yang world, this goes both ways. Except to make it worse, negative energy can result in a domino effect of disaster. For example, if someone trips you by accident and you break your arm when you hit the ground, you’re going to be furious! Let’s say you choose to hold on to this anger, you wait for your arm to heal, then you camp out for months on the street where you were tripped and wait for your tripper (because he obviously still walks on that street). Let’s say you find this person and your negative energy propels you to push him into moving traffic. He doesn’t get severely injured, but you’re thrown in jail for attempted murder. Also Mount Vesuvius erupts again after 71 years. Okay, maybe that doesn’t really happen and maybe that wasn’t the best example of this, but you get the point. The point is that once you let something negative take over you, it dictates everything in your life, and it’s harder to get out of a bad mood than to get into it. Imagine a world where everyone lets their funk lead the way – not too pleasant, right?
The choice is yours. Choose the one that’s going to make you feel like you’re eating cotton candy on a unicorn, and maybe one day everyone around you will feel that way, too!
