The Best DIY Dorm Decor Videos
It’s been a few months in your new space, whether it be an apartment, dorm, or house, and you still haven’t decorated. Some of us aren’t especially talented with interior decorating and crafts, but these YouTubers are, and they’re ready to share their tips with you!
I love reading Tumblr and Pinterest room decor hacks, but I can’t wrap my head around how that girl turned a water bottle into a laptop cover. I’ve found that certain YouTube videos are very motivating and show me just how easy a DIY project can be (although some are still way too much).
If you want to skip the intro for this vid, skip to about 2:10. This video is all about giving your room a chill, hipster vibe. The four DIYs in this video will give you an Instagram worthy room; expect at least 100 likes.
These hot air balloons are so cute! Granted, this project takes a bit more time, but it’s well worth it. Your balloon can be painted to match your room or an accent color. I would love to hang these from my ceiling as an alternative to a canopy!
I love all of Eva’s videos because they’re funny, simple, and always SUPER colorful. If you’re a die hard DIY fan you might have already seen this, but it’s a great video with simple DIY ideas that make a bold statement. This is a great video for someone who wants a room with simple and clean decorations.
This girl gets me: I want simple and cheap, while still looking classy. Her DIYs are inexpensive and will class up any dorm or apartment. I really want to make the nail polish stand to show people all of the nail polishes I have but will never use.

I didn’t recognize the songs from this video but they seemed catchy…is this what the cool kids listen to? Anyways, these projects are pretty simple and can be made inexpensively. Also, she includes the remedy to spray paint on your hands, which I will 100% need.

I would not consider myself a goth, and most of you probably aren’t goths either, but that vase is wicked cool. Like “sell it on Etsy” cool. The headboard is awesome if you have a bed without a headboard. But man, that vase though.
I love this. The doily rocks and wall stickers are the bomb dot com. I always see a bag of doilies at Goodwill for a buck, and now I know what to do with them!
This decor is cool, in a “I recycle and wear geodes on my neck” kind of way. Sadly, I can’t make the second project, as my roommate recently lost custody of her hand saw.
I had to cut myself off after that last video, because I began to tape moss on our walls and glue sticks together, calling it “rustic art.” I’m not great at DIY projects, but hopefully these videos will help me out and inspire you to go outside and pick up some artsy dirt for a project!
